The Southport Marina will host the Inaugural Cape Fear Flounder Classic fishing tournament on July 31, 2010. Fishing hours will run from 7 am to 4 pm, with weigh-ins conducted at the Southport Marina from 3-5 pm. A hot dog cookout will be held Friday and Saturday for the competitors from 5-7 pm, with the awards ceremony being held during the cookout on Saturday afternoon. Entry fee cost $100.00 with an all cash guaranteed prize total of $5300. Organized by the Southport-Oak Island Chamber of Commerce.
