About North Carolina Sports

North Carolina SportsFrom Babe Ruth’s first professional home run, to Payne Stewart’s dramatic putt in the 1999 U.S. Open, from college basketball’s historic Tobacco Road to the 2006 Stanley Cup Champion Carolina Hurricanes, and from the home to numerous legends of NASCAR to the home of the new NASCAR Hall of Fame; sports are as much a part of our landscape as the red clay, majestic mountains and pristine coastline.

It’s more than just the state’s inviting year-round climate, easy access and southern hospitality. Our world-class facilities and venues provide a welcome range of destinations for an endless number of sports. We are the home of everything from USA Baseball and USA Canoe/Kayak to professional golf championships, from youth soccer to the US Figure Skating Championships, and whatever you play, we are ready to join your team and give you a real home-field advantage for your next event.
